Objectives
: To initiate a set of coordinated counselling, skill training, capacity building activities for employment generation, poverty reduction of women from low income group; To foster holistic empowerment and fuller participation in community, by increasing their skill levels and access to opportunities ;to provide assistance to the trainees in finding suitable employment in nearby industries; to sensitize local industries, corporate groups and involvement of their CSR Units.

Outcome
: Successful implementation of this project has made crucial difference in the & overall improvement in the status of Target group.
(a) Establishment of the project infrastructure
(b) Networking, Collaboration and participation of local district administration, civic agencies, Technical training institutes and leading hospitals.
(c) Social mapping of the Local area .
(d) Mobilization campaign in the local slum, low income community.

Highlights

a) Conducted Baseline survey on need assessment.
b) Mobilisation and awareness generation in the local community.

c) Training in Non Formal skills -stitching, tailoring, handicrafts, etc.
d) Training in personal grooming and beauty culture to generate income generation/ employment opportunities for the target group.
e) Training in Formal skills –in corporate culture, spoken business English, basic computer knowledge, customer handling, personality development, front desk management, secretarial duties, sales & marketing skills.
f) NFE classes, counselling, skill training, knowledge enhancement and confidence building programmes.
g) Setting up of Recreation & extracurricular activity room- comprising indoor games, painting material, library, arts & craft, musical equipments, educational IEC material etc.
h) Home visits and counselling of the target group, (especially the school drop outs) and family members to spread awareness on gender empowerment and livelihood issues.
i) Assessment study conducted for all students to ascertain their feedback for programme improvement.
j) The local capacity of the target group - strengthened through following initiatives:-
Skill training, awareness generation, counselling, sessions
Capacity building activities for employing generation.
Improvement in literacy level through NFE Classes and FGDs which leads to knowledge enhancement and self confidence among the target group.
k) Health checkup camp was organized with the support of Escorts & Forties hospital at the Center.
l) In academic collaboration, Banaras Hindu university, IGNOU interns took weekly sessions on various issues like women health & hygiene and other issues related to women empowerment.
m) Arranged lectures for educational inputs through charts, pictorial display on general knowledge.
n) With support from I.T.I, provided an opportunity to girls to attend job fair for interaction with potential employer and further job placements.

The above diagram shows that from April 2011- March 2012, Counselling Training & Employment Support Services for Marginalized Women, Faridabad centre trained total 232 girls. The course on Training in Cutting, Tailoring & Stitching was conducted in two batches hence the diagram depicts higher number of beneficiaries in it.
